The world knows Made in Italy. Few know where it is truly born.

The world knows Made in Italy. Few know where it is truly born. Not in shop windows, but in a shipyard where the scent of wood has not changed in two and a half centuries. In a workshop where a branch of coral becomes a jewel. In a silk mill where threads still glide across the looms. In a Neapolitan atelier where time is measured in gestures repeated a thousand times. At Virada Experience, we know these hands, these families, these stories. That is why we have created a selection of experiences devoted to the art of handcraft: not simple guided tours, but doors that open by invitation only, for a few guests at a time, with all the time needed to look, to listen, to feel. In an age when travel is becoming ever more alike, we believe true luxury lies in the encounter. With a master artisan. With knowledge that cannot be found in books. With an Italy the world admires, yet rarely sees up close.

The Gozzo

Wood, sea, generations.
Marina Grande, Sorrento. Since 1760 the Aprea family has been building wooden gozzi, and when the market chose fiberglass, they chose not to change. In the shipyard-museum of the Antico Cantiere del Legno Aprea, the gozzo takes shape as it always has: the keel, the frames, the planking bent board by board. All around, historic boats once owned by Eduardo De Filippo and Totò, and restorations that have made the history of classic yachting.

The Coral Secret

The red gold of the Mediterranean.
Torre del Greco has been working coral for centuries, and the whole world comes here for its jewels and cameos. We step inside the private collection of a family that has shaped, and continues to shape, the history of coral. A treasure guarded for generations, revealed to a few.

Le Sete di San Leucio

The silk of kings.
At the end of the eighteenth century, the Bourbons founded, just outside Caserta, a silk manufactory that was also meant to be a model community. Today San Leucio is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its silks have adorned royal residences and state palaces around the world. And yet, few know of it. That is precisely why we chose it.

Timeless Naples

The city, through its workshops.
A Naples far from the usual paths. Two renowned artisan workshops, where the craft is handed down from father to son. A historic pizzeria, to understand why Neapolitan pizza-making is part of humanity’s heritage. And to finish, coffee and sfogliatella at Gran Caffè Gambrinus, where Naples has been taking its pause since 1860.

Our way of travelling

Every experience is private, built around our guests, with dedicated transfers and an attention that leaves nothing to chance. They can be combined with one another, paired with time at sea and adapted to the rhythm of each journey. The hands you will meet are the same ones that make Made in Italy unique in the world.
